What is White Out Wednesday? White supremacists are attempting to drown out the Black Lives Matter movement with racist and bigoted messages.
White supremacists who continue to perpetuate racist sentiments such as 'All Lives Matter' and 'White Lives Matter' have unfortunately created their own "holiday," which they are calling "White Out Wednesday." The fake "holiday" comes only one day after Blackout Tuesday, and it looks to undermine the powerful message behind the antiracist movement honoring the hundreds of Black lives lost to police brutality.

If you haven't seen an influx of "White Out Wednesday" posts — or the #WhiteOutWednesday hashtag — on Twitter, it's a movement that perpetuates racism by turning a blind eye to issues Black Americans face on a daily basis. Luckily, though, people are fighting back by flooding the related hashtags with antiracist sentiments.

White Out Wednesday is an extremely unfortunate response to Blackout Tuesday.
On Tuesday, June 2, Instagram feeds were filled to the brim with black squares, advocating for equality in America, while addressing police brutality. The movement was called "Blackout Tuesday," and it enabled allies across the globe to show their support and solidarity for the Black Lives Matter movement.
Unfortunately, racists who continuously choose to turn a blind eye to racism in America, and perpetuate the "White Lives Matter" and "All Lives Matter" movements, decided to create a fictitious "holiday" called "White Out Wednesday" the day after Blackout Tuesday. They are taking to social media with images of plain white squares, which are accompanied by the #WhiteoutWednesday and #WhiteLivesMatter hashtags.

Many have taken to Twitter to speak out about the racist movement.
With police brutality continuing to plague the nation, antiracists are fighting back, explaining why Black Lives Matter is so important, and why "White Out Wednesday" is completely trash.

Along with a graphic explaining the significance of the BLM movement, News7 Anchor, @julianamazzatv tweeted: “White Lives Matter” and “White Out Wednesday” are currently trending on Twitter...." and @timwilliamsart tweeted a graphic of an "unfollow button," using the caption: "Hey, if you're a part of any "White Lives Matter" or "White Out Wednesday" and are a follower of mine, do me a favor. Find this button, press it really hard, and don't ever find your way back here. Thanks a lot."

It's unclear why so many Americans continue to the significance of the Black Lives Matter movement, and White Out Wednesday is just another way Black voices are being silenced. Needless to say, Americans need to do better.
